Executingonthestrategyofsustainableandprofitablegrowth
Forthefirsttimesince2016wearedeliveringanoperatingprofit.Wesawstrongimprovementsofbothoperationalandfinancialperformancethroughcontinueddisciplinedexecutionofourprofitablegrowthstrategy,whichalsoledustoincreaseournear-termguidance.
OctobermarksmyoneyearanniversaryatStorytel.WecontinuetoexecuteonthelongtermstrategicshiftconsistentwithourplansannouncedatCapitalMarketsDayinJune.Thestrategyisdeliveringresultsearlierthaninitiallyexpected.Wenotonlydeliveredyetanother(oursixth)consecutivequarterofEBITDAprofitability,butarequicklyapproachingbottomlineprofitabilitythroughacombinationofhealthygrowthinthenumberofpayingsubscribers,higherrevenuesperuser, andamoredisciplinedapproachtocostmanagement.
ImprovedperformanceandontracktodeliveronfinancialtargetsDespiteachallengingmacroeconomicenvironmentinScandinaviaandseveralothercoremarkets,ourperformanceinthequarterbearstestimonytotheresiliencyoftheaudiobookmarketandofourbusinessmodel.ChurnremainshealthyandARPUisatagoodlevel.Inthethirdquarter, Storytelexperiencedsolidrevenuegrowthandimprovedprofitabilityandcashflowascomparedtothethirdquarterlastyear. OurUSbusiness,Audiobooks.com,continuestodelivergoodprofitabilityandcashgeneration.IntotalNon-Nordicstreaminggrewrevenueswith13percentto271MSEK(250MSEK)andthesubscriberbasewith4.3percentto975,000(935,000).
UniquecontentandimprovedexperiencetodrivesubscribergrowthWecontinuedoureffortstodifferentiatetheproductandcustomerexperiencethroughuniqueStorytelcontentandtoimprovetheuseofdataandanalyticsindeliveringamorepersonalizedaudio-storyexperienceforeverysubscriber.
